“Cooking is where my passion has always been. It’s what I do; it’s what I’ve always done.” Jeremy Paquin began working for Essence Restaurant Group in 2015 at Bistro Bella Vita before transitioning into the role of Head Chef at Grove.
Prior to joining ERG, Jeremy and Jamie brought the farm-to-table concept to Muskegon with their venture Mia and Grace. Jeremy’s roots of crafting dishes prepared from fresh, local products align with Grove’s fundamental value of thoughtfully prepared cuisine.

Jim has been involved in the restaurant industry for over 15 years, working in service and management alike, including the last ten years in the thriving Grand Rapids market. Jim is a newcomer to the Essence team, joining the group in 2014. Jim brought his knowledge of wine and service from a fine dining setting to Bistro Bella Vita upon his arrival, striving to create a complete dining experience for all of our guests. James helped open Bistro Bella Vita back in 1996 and formed Essence Restaurant Group with his partner, and Chief Culinary Officer, Patrick Wise in 2006. Essence Restaurant Group owns and operates Bistro Bella Vita, The Green Well, Grove, and Rockford Riverside Grille.
His goal is to continue to build a collection of restaurants that foster a socially-conscious environment and healthy lifestyle for all those who contribute to them.
